Location

Tamesna is a newly created city just 12 kms. south of Rabat and 4 kms. from the coast, next to the by-pass Casablanca-Tangier-Fez. Rabat, Morocco’s capital since 1912, is home to impressive historical monuments that can be traced back to the glorious Islamic and European influences in virtually the same measures.

Compulsory visits include the Royal Palace, Mohammed V’s mausoleum, (grandfather to the current king, Mohamed VI), the Medina and its zouk, protected on its southern flank by the Andalusian Wall. The Chellah Necropolis can also be visited, where the Roman ruins of Sala are located, and the Arquelogical Museum.

One of the most famous monuments of Rabat is Hassan Tower and Citadel of the Oudaias, built on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic, and is home to an ancient palace, converted into a traditional art museum.

Between the historical park of the Jardins Triangle de Vue and the main train station, visitors to this city can find a large variety of restaurants in which they can enjoy typical local gastronomy. If contact with nature is sought, then the Buknadel Gardensshould be visited (some 12 kms. from Rabat), where more than 1,500 exotic species coexist. Les Villes de Tamesna is situated in the city of Tamesna, 12km southern Rabat, next to the by-pass Casablanca-Tangier-Fez, 5km from the coast and 35km from the airport of Rabat.
